How Michael Gan and Johnny Lyu’s Kucoin Story Began?
KuCoin was founded in 2017, but right before then, behind the story, and behind the company were two tech geeks; these two of which were early blockchain adopters and also being the two founders of the company. Having started coding at the age of 8 and founded his first startup at 16, one of the geeks heard about Bitcoin in 2012 from his boss (another geek) and immediately began to mine.
However by trying to mine, he tried selling some BTC on Mt.Gox, he found out that as at that time, it was very difficult for beginners to use crypto platforms, including even what was the worlds largest platform at the time.
Hence, as blockchain adoption continued, they began to realize that it was the reshaping of the financial system, building a new system that serves the few richest and everyone in the world; with the uneducated, unemployed, and unbanked inclusive.
Consequently, as at the end of 2013, they wrote down the first code in a cafe, and they aftermath spent over two months to complete the code for a trading system; having the initial API documentation of this work still present on GitHub, due to the fact that as at this time we’re talking about, the whole cryptocurrency market was still in its early stage.
Their plans therefore had to drag for an extended period because these two geeks each had their jobs, and were not yet ready to start a business yet.
